Why Stay at the Altnacealgach Motel?
We are located on the main Lairg to Lochinver road only a mile from Ledmore Junction on the west coast. We are only 18 miles from both Ullapool and Lochinver, so perfect for exploring the area.
The Altnacealgach has been catering for sportsmen and fishermen since the Victorian times – even featuring in ‘Wanderings by Lochs and Streams of Assynt and the North Highlands of Scotland’, written in 1855!
All of our modern, well-appointed rooms have a fully-equipped kitchenette, seating area with flat screen TV, ensuite shower room and stunning views over Loch Borralan.
Easy Access to the Scottish Highlands
Great road links in the area means access to the stunning North-West Highlands of Scotland for everyone – whether on foot, on two wheels or four! Mountains, lochs and white sandy beaches are all within easy reach of the Altnacealgach Motel.
The North Coast 500
The NC 500, the 516-mile route following some of the most amazing roads in the country, is only one mile from the Altnacealgach Motel where it passes through Ledmore on the west coast. We are ideally located for your overnight stay and we are bike friendly!
Assynt – a great place to explore
Altnacealgach and the surrounding area has an abundance of activities and places to visit. Assynt has some of the best caving in Scotland, a variety of water-based sports, wonderful walking routes and amazing roads.
If you want to relax, there are white-sand beaches, art galleries, craft centres and wonderful restaurants all within easy reach.
